Jacob deGrom is having a historically good season, and the New York Mets ace will look to keep it going as former AL Cy Young winner Blake Snell and the San Diego Padres visit Citi Field on Friday.

DeGrom has thrown more than half of MLB’s pitches that have registered at or above 100 mph this season and leads the majors with a 0.62 ERA, 3.9 hits per nine innings, 14.4 strikeouts per nine innings and a 0.569 WHIP.

Snell has been excellent at home. The Padres are 5-1 in his six starts at Petco Park behind his 1.65 ERA and .160 opponents batting average. But on the road the Padres are 0-6 in his starts with Snell’s ERA ballooning to 9.70 with opponents hitting .292 off of him.

The Mets have given up a combined six runs in deGrom’s past six starts. They back him up with a bullpen that ranks seventh in MLB in ERA and second in home runs per nine innings allowed.

With the Padres having scored four runs or fewer in 10 of their past 11 games and the Mets scoring four or more in eight of their past 11 games, deGrom’s dominance will continue for the NL East’s first-place club.

The play: Mets, -160.
